I do put on them as liners and they do an amazing job. On warmer days I wear simply the liner and they work glorious. They are actually weatherproof so when I contact the snow they do not get soaked. The wrist elastic is a glorious function as it hugs your wrist and it prevents chilly air from seeping in or snow from getting onto your palms. I would strongly suggest this line of liner gloves.
